Players/coaches in quarantine (close contact of positive cases) Player/coach may return to OBBA practice/games/events under the following circumstance. Player/coaches must:
● complete a 5-day quarantine period at home
● Not have any developing symptoms
Quarantine Exemptions: Fully vaccinated persons are exempt from close-contact quarantining as are persons who have had COVID-19 in the prior 90 days and have recovered. However, we strongly recommend a test 3-5 days after the last exposure to the positive case.
A negative COVID-19 test is strongly recommended prior to returning from either isolation or quarantine. Orono schools had advised the district has a strong supply of rapid antigen tests and is working to obtain more. Please reach out to your school health office to request a test kit. You may also request a free, at-home saliva test (PCR) through Vault Health: https://learn.vaulthealth.com/state-of-minnesota/
We recommend all families follow this process to protect the learning environment and help the district maintain in-person learning for all students. More detailed information from the CDC is available here.
Calculating Isolation (for those who are positive for COVID-19)
Day 0 is the day the positive test or symptom onset. Day 1 is the first full day after the specimen was collected for the positive test. Individuals who are asymptomatic and continue to have no symptoms can end isolation after 5 days. If an individual begins to develop symptoms after testing positive, Day 0 should start over on the first day of symptom onset.
Calculating Quarantine (for those who are exposed to COVID-19 as a close contact)
The date of your exposure is considered Day 0. Day 1 is the first full day after your last contact with a person who has had COVID-19.
